ASCO Statement on the U.S. Presidential Executive Order on Entry into the United States

Dear ASCO Members,

By now, I am sure you are well aware of the recent executive order and travel ban that has the potential to affect many of our members, researchers, medical students, professionals -- and cancer patients -- around the globe. In response, we have developed a statement that you can find on ASCO Connection.

Needless to say, we are deeply concerned about the consequences of this action for our international members as well as for our patients, both home and abroad. We are working toward solutions that will support the participation of our members and other oncology professionals in ASCO's scientific meetings and educational opportunities that help advance patient care around the world.

While you may not be directly affected, you may know others who will face resulting challenges. To better understand these situations, we have established an email, cancerisglobal@asco.org, where individuals can share their stories. We will be using this information to engage with public officials and to be sure the impact of these policies are understood.

Thank you,
Hayes signature
