[Duplicate] ASCO’s March 2026 Coding Tip of the Month: G2211

The underutilization of HCPCS code G2211 led to a staggering $900 million shortfall in national physician reimbursement in 2024, as highlighted in a recent JCO Oncology Practice article. This add-on code provides essential financial recognition for the cognitive, relationship-based work inherent in managing complex conditions like cancer.

G2211 may be reported with an office/outpatient or home/residential E/M visits when the practitioner acts as the continuing focal point for all health care services or provides ongoing care related to a patient’s single, serious or complex condition. In 2026, reimbursement for the G2211 adds an additional $17.37 to what may be paid for each applicable visit when reported.

For more details on reporting requirements, please review ASCO’s G2211 resource which can be found on ASCO’s Coding and Reimbursement page.
