Governor Whitmer Delivers Her Sixth State of the State Adress
Governor Gretchen Whitmer delivered her sixth State of the State address at the Capitol in Lansing. In her 2024 address, Governor Whitmer highlighted 6 different proposals:

- State-funded free tuition for the first two years of community college
- Novel tax credit up to $5,000 granted to caregivers responsible for the wellbeing of a family member

- Accelerating the expansion of Michigan’s Great Start Readiness preschool program for all four-year-olds

The Governor’s goals for this year concentrate on building up Michigan. Whitmer touted the democratic trifecta’s accomplishments in reproductive rights, climate change solutions, delivering $1 billion in tax relief, free school lunches, and codifying the Affordable Care Act into Michigan statute, among other notable priorities for the caucus.
