ASCO’s September 2026 Coding Tip of the Month: Updates to CMS HCPCS Code Set

Each quarter, CMS releases changes to the HCPCS code set in their HCPCS quarterly update. For October 2026, there are changes relating to nine drugs and one radiopharmaceutical, including drugs like bendamustine, etoposide, and fluorouracil. 

It’s important for practices to be aware of the changes to prevent denials. ASCO provides summaries of the HCPCS updates pertinent to oncology to assist our members and their practices. ASCO’s summary of the October update is now available.
